The Based Gamer is a haven for unapologetic gamers and entertainment enthusiasts who value authenticity above all else. We’re dedicated to providing raw, unfiltered commentary on the gaming world, movies, TV shows, anime, Esports, and everything in between.

What We’re Looking For

Video Games – We’re seeking writers who can dive deep into new game releases, dissect various aspects of gaming culture, and deliver no-holds-barred opinions on industry news.

Movies – Are you passionate about film? We need reviewers who can critique the latest releases, share their thoughts on popular movies, and stay on top of important cinema news.

TV/Streaming – From binge-worthy series to weekly episodes, we want writers who can analyze and review TV shows, offer insightful commentary on television trends, and keep readers updated on the latest developments in the TV world.

Comics – We’re looking for reviewers of old and new comics. Old comics gives you the benefit of educating the next generations who may have missed out and new comics give you the ability to bitch on the internet about their wokeness.

Anime – If you’re an anime aficionado, we want you to review movies and shows, explore the nuances of beloved anime titles, and report on the latest happenings in the anime community.

Esports – Are you plugged into the Esports scene? We’re looking for contributors who can cover news from the world of competitive gaming, including YouTube and Twitch drama, trending events, and updates on Esports personalities.

The Based Gamer Podcast – We’re looking to start up a podcast. Want to write for or be involved on screen ? Here’s your chance.

*All positions are currently volunteer-only but we will get you occasional free games for review to keep. A roadmap does exist for future pay.

Requirements

Submit a minimum of one article every 2 weeks, including reviews, opinion pieces, or news stories. Reviews and opinion pieces must be at least 750 words. All content must be original; plagiarism will not be tolerated.

*Strong writing skills and a willingness to accept constructive criticism are essential. While WordPress experience is appreciated, it’s not mandatory; we provide training.
